چکیده

Mmlner, R. D. G. (1971). Archives of Disease in Childhood, 46, 301. Metabolic and hormonal responses to oral amino acids in infantile malnutrition. A mixture of 10 essential amino acids was given by gavage to 8 children with infantile malnutrition and 7 children who had clinically recovered from malnutrition. Blood samples taken before and at different times after the amino acid load were analysed for glucose, free fatty acid, a-amino nitrogen, insulin, and growth hormone. In both the malnourished and the recovered children the amino acid load caused a rise in plasma a-amino nitrogen and glucose, and a fall in growth hormone levels, but no change in plasma free fatty acid or insulin levels.

Transient inactivation of the central amygdala modulates metabolic and hormonal responses to acute stress in female rats

Introduction: Current study examined the possible role of the central nucleus of amygdala (CeA) transient inactivation on the metabolic and hormonal disturbances induced by acute electro foot shock stress in female rats. Considering the differences between female and male in responses to stress, this study attempts to reveal possible mechanisms underlying these differences. Methods: Uni- or bil...

Analysis of Plasma Amino Acids Using RP-HPLC and Pre-Column Derivatization with OPA/3-MPA

ABSTRACT        Background and Objective: Measurement of amino acids is an important tool for metabolic studies and evaluation of patients’ clinical condition. The aim of this study was to analyze the plasma amino acids using reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography techniques (RP-HPLC) with pre-column derivatization by o-phthalaldehyde (OPA)...

EVALUATION OF METABOLIC PROFILE OF PLASMA AMINO ACIDS IN DIABETIC PATIENTS WITH CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common endocrine diseases. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of death in patients with type 2 diabetes. The aim of this study was to investigate the metabolic profile of plasma amino acids in diabetic patients with cardiovascular disease. Methods: The present study is a descriptive-analytical cross-sectional study on 140 ...

A Review on Recent Findings on Amino Acids Requirements in Poult-Studies

Amino acids (AA) are important in poultry nutrition not only for protein deposition, but also for other metabolic functions; such as improving immune and gut functions. Although, some table values are available on amino acids requirement, AA requirements may vary due to changes in dietary composition and breeding selection. Thus amino acids requirements have remained an ongoing research topic. ...

Metabolic and hormonal responses of low birthweight infants to intravenously infused calories not exceeding the maintenance energy expenditure.

Eithe low birthweight infants were studied for their metabolic and hormonal responses to intravenous alimentation when the caloric input was varied. The study was made during three consecutive 12-hour periods, when solutions of glucose, glucose and amino-acids, and glucose and amino-acid and lipids were successively infused. Hypertonic glucose led to a fall in plasma free fatty acids and amino-...
